Champagne is the most sparkling of the French regions. Since 2015, hillsides, houses and champagne cellars have been listed as World Heritage Sites (UNESCO).
The Champagne wine region is divided into four main areas: the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley, the Côte des Blancs and the Côte des Bar. Champagne terroirs (villages) are classified into three categories: Champagne Premier Cru, Champagne Grand Cru and Champagne.
